Well done CAPTAIN DEREK JETER. Welcome Tanaka.

Yay! almost 3 months of not visiting my dashboard! i missed blogging! hahaha Well, time check it's almost 4 in the morning and I'm wide awake. There's a lot of things thrown inside my head, plus all the back up load for the last couple of months. I wanna share a lot of stuff but definitely should take it one step at a time.

Since the other tab on my screen is something so dearly to me, that will be my topic for today. I'm pertaining to the team I'm rooting for every now and then in Major League Baseball. My one and only NEW YORK YANKEES! Sorry to those who are not quite interested, this is my blog anyway.. hehehe. peace!

Well, same as the previous seasons, there's a bunch of drastic changes and news for each team as so to Yankees. From Jorge Posada, Robinson Cano and other member's farewell, Mariano Rivera and Andy Pettitte's retirement, welcomed former Red Sox' player (ehem) Jacoby Ellsbury and the humongous career ahead of the most well-talked, highest paid and a new member of the family, Masahiro Tanaka.

Masahiro Tanaka

Yes, it was my team that finally sealed the contract for Tanaka. A great asset every team fought to have. Remarkable record and play. Great catch as they say. So, it was a good news right? And I'm just one of the millions who's very eager and excited to witness his magic. On the contrary, all these emotions boils down into one sad reality. The team Captain who happened to be one of my most favorite player, just announced his retirement before the 2014 season begun. As a fan, I was really shocked, saddened and still can't absorb that he will be leaving the team too soon. Just like his other colleagues who happened to retire earlier,  Derek Jeter has a personal life he needs to catch up with. Here is the official retirement letter from him:

Sad to say, this will be his last year and hoping to bag the championship. When I read his letter and know about this made me looked back on his legacy. We fans will gonna miss him, as so as his team mates, his brothers, his coach, the father, down to the staff and other people who had been a part of his journey. The Yankees may loss a big jewel, the captain of the team and his career in baseball may end, but the world still has a lot of beautiful things to offer. It's just the beginning. A new chapter to a great man we will always look up and cheer to. At this point, looking at the standing, New York Yankees leads the American League to 10 Wins, 7 losses. So let's keep our fingers cross for a much better result.

"I will be forever grateful I never could have imagined playing anywhere else" -Derek Jeter

Well done my dear Captain Derek Jeter. This entry is dedicated for you. Thank you for the great battle you fought for Yankees and to your fans. Also to the sweet and humble smile, to every stumble, victory and glory. We will definitely miss you! Hats off!
