LIPA CITY (#throwbackthursday? Our own version of discovering Lipa.. (recall) ☻)

During the first few months of me and my husband's "relationship" ☻,our usual off will be Sunday. We don't plan things.. where to go? what to eat? and so on.. (take note, up to now.. hahaha)
As I recall, it was a very nice sunny day and we were clueless as to where will be our destination and what's the agenda for that day. We were stuck at LRT Buendia Station and I told babe "Alam ko na, kung ano makita nating bus dun tayo pupunta" . And of course babe agreed because there were lots of bus lines in that area. "Sige, kung ano yung byahe tanong natin sa Manong ung travel time". Yehey! we were so excited to try something new, to explore new place (strange place we haven't been to) but at that same time anxious. While we were eating, there were buses on the other side of the road and babe said it was going to Lipa City, Batanggas. After we ate, babe started to interrogate Manong and gathered some info. and was told that it will took us 2-3 hours to get there and were fine with that! And that marked our very 1st journey to Lipa, 1st out of town, 1st long road trip together ☻(all unplanned).

It was mixed emotions. We're certainly excited. On our way, there were trees, farmlands, animals, and mountains that welcomed us but halfway there, we were kind'a worried because it was all nature everywhere no sign of a city like environment.

until the bus turned right..
Yey! we're here!
Finally we passed by Robinson's Lipa and babe decided that we could go down from there. whew! at least we're in the city..(hahaha) while walking, of course we were clueless where to go, since that was Sunday and it's Sabbath day our agenda was to look for the nearest church until we  bumped to someone.

Babe: Nay san po ang malapit na simbahan dito?
Nanay: Marami san nyo ba gusto? Dalawa ang malapit na simbahan.
Babe: San po yung puntahan ng tao?
Nanay: Kilala ang San Sebastian Cathedral. pwede kayo magtricycle, pwede din lakarin. Yung isa naman Redemptorist church.
Babe: Okay.. thank you po nay.. (with a smile..and nanay smiled back ☻)

Good vibes! It was very kind of Nanay to entertain my husband's questions and she seemed happy welcoming us. ☻
We decided to walk instead. it was cold, the wind breezed on our skin and we loved it! We thought that only Baguio and Tagaytay had that kind of climate but it's not.☻
We seized the moment exploring the place. We were overwhelmed taking into consideration that everything were all unplanned but it went well. My husband would asked the Batangeños from time to time how near we were from the cathedral until we had a glimpsed of the church' dome. Since the cathedral is situated in the city proper, expected that people were everywhere.. Astonishingly, it was huge and when we got inside we were stunned. It was really beautiful and we were blessed to have been able to attend the mass. We felt the solemnity and our hearts were filled with joy and gladness. We're the luckiest, being the first time there, the parish priest who did the sermon was full of humor and wisdom. We were delighted how he incorporate the word of God in the real world. From then, he became our favorite. You're the best Fr. Boy! ☻
As we went out, the crowd and an oh-so cold blew of the wind wowed us
.They were celebrating a feast that we thought at that time primarily because of having the procession after mass.
It was dark outside so we need to hurry up. We ordered to-go meal from McDonald and rode a tricycle going to the bus station and surprisingly, it's not that far. We're safe and our trip back to Manila was absolutely fine.
striking beauty of San Sebastian Cathedral

Since then..Lipa seemed to be our hometown. There were countless experiences happened after the first time and I'm excited to share those later on.. It was just wonderful building dreams with my husband in this place. ♥♥♥
